Due to its sold-out success, we are proud to welcome Mountain Art Theatre back for a third weekend performance of their production of William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night, or What You Will”.
TWELFTH NIGHT
by William Shakespeare
Directed by Dwight Chiles
HELD OVER with Added performances Mar. 9 & 10 at 7:30pm and Mar. 11 at 2pm
The Daniel & Belle Fangmeyer Theatre
Shakespeare’s comedy of gender confusion, in which a girl disguises herself as a man to be near the count she adores, only to be pursued by the woman he loves.
The play centers on the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck. Viola, who is disguised as a man named Cesario, falls in love with Duke Orsino, who in turn is in love with the Countess Olivia. Upon meeting Viola, Countess Olivia, who since the death of her father and brother refuses to entertain, love or be wed, falls in love with Viola thinking she is a man. This is considered one of the Bards’ greatest works and is being brought to you by Mountain Art Theatre, the same team responsible for last season’s critically acclaimed Romeo and Juliet (Studio season), and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (Mainstage season).
