Audition Requirements
Please read all requirements carefully and come prepared to strut your stuff!!! Auditions should be fun, but the director must see that you have followed the requirements. The original full length company had eight ensemble members. However, our production will include at least 20 members from 5th thru 12th grade. No one can be over 18 years old.
Vocal Requirements
You must choose a song from a Stephen Schwartz musical other than GODSPELL Jr. Your audition song must be 16 – 32 bars of music. Please no more than 32 bars of music!!! You do not want the director to stop you. Choose 16 – 32 bars that highlight your vocal range. Below you will find a list of song choices from four other Stephen Schwartz musicals. These are just suggestions for you.

Magic To Do
Once you are done with vocal auditions, we will have a movement audition. Please do not worry about being a great dancer. We simply want to see if you can move. We will use about eight to ten measures of music from the show. You will learn it in one full group and then we will break you down into smaller groups.
Acting Requirements
You will not be reading from the script. Godspell is a joyous, playful, and improvisational musical. Your imagination and creativity is what makes it special. In order to embrace all of these elements, you are required to choose one of the following parables and create your interpretation in one minute. If you want to think of it as a one minute monologue, that is just fine. Some of the parables may have a few characters. Let’s see what fabulous creations you bring to the table. You are acting out the parable. Do not be afraid to take risks. Most important of all, have fun!
Parables
The Parable of the Good Samaritan
The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus
The Parable of the Prodigal Son
The Parable of the Persistent Widow
